1. Kick off the holiday season at Holiday on the Square in Carmel, Indiana. Welcome Santa and his elves, enjoy musical performances and see the official tree lighting, Saturday, 4:30-6:30 p.m., on the lawn/gazebo area at City Hall. 2. Enjoy lunch and at the Alphagraphics Fashion Show and Trunk Sale at Cooking Greek Deli in Carmel, Saturday, 11 a.m. 3 p.m. Purchase apparel or handmade jewelry for yourself or someone special on your gift list. Proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure. 3. Visit The Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and celebrate the grand opening of the new Basile Gift Shop, take a tour of the Palladium and discover music memorabilia in the Great American Songbook collection. 4. Bring the family to see the musical Annie at the Tarkington at The Center for the Performing Arts, November 17-27. Whether you are seeing it for the first time or revisiting an old favorite, the story of how the spirited little orphan Annie finds a new home will make you smile. 5. See the winning pieces from the "Community Creates art competition. Art work will be on display through November 25 at Birdie Gallery in Noblesville, Indiana. Gallery hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. 6. Beat the crowds and start your holiday shopping early. Noblesville Square shops and boutiques feature unique gift items, jewelry, accessories, toys, antiques and apparel for everyone on your shopping list. 7.
