Eco-friendly Herbal Arts

Jul 19, 2011 by Hamilton County CVB

This week's guest blogger Natalie Harris and she has been a part of our Visitor Services staff for four years. She  lives in Carmel, Indiana. Hamilton County, Indiana, has become a welcoming places for local artisans wanting to create unique businesses. Indiana Artisan Brian Paffen echoed this sentiment to me this past Thursday when I stopped in the eclectic Fishers Office Suites to visit his retail showroom for Herbal Art. I was greeted with kindness and an energy that showed the passion Brian has for his work. I also could feel the eco-friendly vibe throughout the entire showroom. Even most of the paint used in the room was VOC free, or lacked volatile organic compounds. All of Brian's products are handmade out of natural ingredients. Not only are the products hypoallergenic, but they are also gluten-free, making these products ideal for all skin types, even sensitive skin. From soap to candles, Brian has created products of a superior quality that also promote a green lifestyle. An entire wall of the showroom is dedicated to his handmade soaps. As I leaned in for a closer look, I was surprised to find not only traditional soap scents, but also entirely unique scents, such as “Lettuce & Spicy Tomato and the wine-scented “Merlot. Brian also has a line of scentless products, ideal for those not wanting to mix multiple scents. As Brian continued to show me around his showroom, I liked each product more than the one before. He also has products perfect for an eco-friendly wedding, including naturally printed wedding invitations and monogramed silk petals, as well as a line of men’s skincare. I highly recommend you stop in and visit this unique shop and see what different smells take your fancy. By the way, Brian also has a new line of candles coming out, so look for those soon! Until then, check out his online store or come in to visit his store on Monday through Wednesday by appointment, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
