8th Street Development

Nickel Plate Arts

This emerging arts destination features 30-miles and six communities with opportunities to see, buy and learn more about the visual and performing arts. The Nickel Plate communities include six historic towns: Fishers, Noblesville, Cicero, Arcadia, Atlanta and Tipton, and follow the old Nickel Plate rail line, which is still in operation, with the Indiana Transportation Museum providing regular excursions.

In 2012, the Nickel Plate Arts opened in the historic 8th Street District of downtown Noblesville. Visitors enjoy changing exhibitions, classes, information and events renovated 1840s Judge Stone House. In addition to the exhibits and outreach, Nickel Plate Arts hosts Nickel Plate Arts Festival, a month-long celebration of the arts.

The renovation is a project of Hamilton County Tourism, Inc. with the City of Noblesville and Hamilton County.
