The Center for the Performing Arts includes three venues: the Palladium, a 1,600-seat concert hall; The Tarkington Theater, a 500-seat proscenium state; and The Studio Theater, a flexible space for intimate performances. The Center presents international artists across all performing arts genres, as well as family and children's entertainment. In addition to the venues, other rental spaces are available for private and corporate entertaining and meeting events.
The Studio is home to the Actors Theatre of Indiana, Hamilton County's only professional equity theatre company; The Tarkington is home to the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre, the largest of Indiana community theatre companies.
The Palladium is home to the Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Gallery and Archive. Dedicated to preserving America's musical heritage of the 1920's - 1960's, visitors may enjoy gallery exhibits and scholars may use the archive for research and study. Come see Fred Astaire's dancing shoes, the original lyrics to "Unchained Melody" and sheet music autographed by George Gershwin.
