The memorial started in 2001 by Command Sergeant Major Donald E. Peed to honor the men and women from Indiana who have given their lives for our country. For each Hoosier lost, the Command Sergeant would place a hand made cross in his yard and even though he has passed away the tradition continues at the Fallen Hoosiers Memorial.
