Blog about it

When residents and visitors want to know what to do and where to stay in Hamilton County, they go to where they’ll find special events, attractions and hotels. Now, visitors also will find blogs that will give visitors a first-hand look at experiences around Hamilton County.

These experiential bloggers may take visitors behind-the-scenes tour of Klipsch Music Center, they’ll tell you which martini to try during $5 Martini Night at Detour and where to score the freshest produce at local Farmers Markets.

“While visitors want information about what to see and do, they also want recommendations from real people, who have been on the Nickel Plate Trail, who’ve devoured the Big Ugly and have ridden the Fair Train,” said HCCVB Deputy Director Karen Radcliff. “Our bloggers are going to tell those stories as first-person experiences of what they’ve seen, who’ve they met, and new discoveries.”

Bloggers are not bureau employees. They will work on their own, provide their own articles and post photos and videos of their experiences, all which will be available on the bureau’s website.

Renaissance named ‘best in brand’

Marriott International named the 263-room Carmel Renaissance Hotel as the No. 1 hotel in the Renaissance brand for event satisfaction. Marriott uses survey results, including meeting facilities, sales partnering, sales service, operations and overall services to determine the top hotels. The Carmel hotel also ranked in the top 10 percent of all Renaissance hotels for overall guest satisfaction.

“The Renaissance is a real gem for Hamilton County, and we couldn’t be happier that it received this prestigious award,” said Brenda Myers, HCCVB executive director.
