Kick-Off to Spring Events
The Hamilton County Sports Authority will work to help manage, promote and develop several major events coming to Hamilton County this spring, including the April 18 Carmel Marathon, which includes a marathon, half marathon relay, the Horizon Bank 8K, and new this year, a Stay Healthy Carmel 5K. The shorter race was established to mark the fifth anniversary of this increasingly popular event. For those not running, there is still plenty to do and see, including live entertainment, a fitness expo and more.

The day after the Marathon, collegiate golfers will tee-off at Prairie View Golf Club for the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championship, which takes place April 19-21. A week later, the Big 10 Women’s Golf Championship will compete at The Fort Golf Resort.

While it may see too soon to think about baseball, opening day for Fishers-HSE Youth Baseball is only weeks away, and planning is in full swing. On April 25, expect a full day of activities and baseball at Billericay Park in Fishers. On that same day, the largest all-women’s crossfit event Project GLOC (Gorgeous Ladies of Crossfit) will begin a two-day tournament at Roundtripper Sports Academy in Westfield. The event is so popular, it sold out within days. The competition includes 200 individual participants and 100 two-person teams.

Sports Authority gets Readers Choice Award
SportEvents Magazine, a national industry publication focused on sports events, announced that Hamilton County Sports Authority is one of its 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards winners. The Sports Authority is included in the January issue of the magazine.

Sports event professionals nominated their favorite destinations and venues based on exemplary creativity and professionalism. Readers voted online to determine the final list.

“It is clear, based on our readers’ experiences, that these award winners are willing to go above and beyond typical service levels to help sports event planners produce outstanding events that participants, their families and spectators will want to experience again and again,” said Kristin McIntosh, the magazine’s editor.

Hamilton County Sports Authority promotes regional and amateur sports development by offering a unique mix of consulting and support services to amateur, nonprofit sporting events.
