"Nice diversion for train lovers...."
When we heard that Hamilton County Indiana had a train museum, we knew we had to check it out!
Nitty Gritty: Tickets vary depending on what kind of ride you decide to take. There are different departure points as well.
Our train picked us up in Downtown Noblesville. We were a little unsure of where the pickup was because there were no signs, but we decided to follow the crowd and ended up okay. We were excited to take the train to the train museum in Forest Park. It was a short ride but the best part is that we had a chance to hop aboard a caboose - our very first time in one!
We got off at the Transportation Museum stop and perused the train equipment. Though this wasn't as large as other train museums that we've been to, it was enough to whet the appetites of my two train fanatics. We were able to walk through a few, and then before we knew it, it was time to board our train going back to downtown Noblesville by the square.
Bottom line: If you're in the area and have a train fanatic, it's always a fun time riding aboard a real train. Stopping at the Transportation Museum was a nice diversion, although a little on the smaller side, but still worth it.
Tip: Check out their website for different kinds of train experiences including a dinner train!
