The balloon voyage. Possibly the best thing I've done so far in the 8 Great Towns! The ten minutes up in the air was the perfect way to end my internship at Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Flying up 390 feet up in the air really takes your breath away. This afternoon, HCCVB employees, interns, and I went for a balloon ride. The Conner Prairie Balloon Voyage is a must-do before the summer season comes to a close. Experiencing the 150-foot balloon up close is incredible! Starting your journey off in Conner Prairie first with a birds-eye view of the 8 Great Towns is the way to go. Intern Emma gave her thoughts on the balloon ride, "My favorite part was the ride up, it was very smooth. It wasn't scary at all!" I personally loved seeing the view from downtown Indianapolis, stretching to Keystone Crossing, and even seeing the courthouse on the Square in Nobelsville. Sarah B. (the person behind our 8 Great Towns twiiter page) brought her son, Christopher (age 2), along for the ride! He safely landed our group down by navigating the balloon all on his own! Actually, he pushed a button, but he did a great job keeping us calm and full of laughs. Tickets are $15 per person + general admission, and $12/member (general admission is FREE). For more info, fun facts and to see if the balloon is running that day, visit Conner Prairie's website at Also, check out pictures from the day at the end of this post! Grab a spot on the Conner Prairie Balloon Voyage today, and hurry while the weather is beautiful! Singing off for the summer, Intern Marisa
