School may be starting soon, but that doesn't mean you have to cut back on the summer fun!  Enjoy all that Hamilton County has to offer from outdoor concerts to golf tournaments and everything in between.  If you're tightening your budget for the upcoming school year, no fear!  We've got plenty of special offers and we'll be doing several giveaways on our Twitter and Facebook as well.  As always, for a list of even more fun events, check our online calendar

1. Most of the free summer concerts series may be done for the season, but there are still plenty of options for outdoor entertainment! This weekend, check out Symphony on the Prairie on Friday or Saturday, head to Sheridan for an outdoor gospel concert on Saturday, or catch the Indianapolis Municipal Band in Noblesville on Sunday afternoon. 2. If you'd prefer an indoor entertainment experience, you're in luck too. The Carmel Repertory Theater is now presenting the classic "The Music Man" and the Belfry Theater is showing "Disco Inferno". Also this Friday, George Cole and Eurocana will be performing live at the Hedgehog Music Showcase- a lovely historic indoor venue.  

3. Have you been watching the Olympics and now want to see some live sports? Check out the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Competition in Noblesville to see kids show off their football skills. Or head to Cicero to cheer on the Drought Duathlon participants who will be forgoing the swimming portion of this annual triathlon due to the drought.  

4. Don't miss the annual Indiana Transportation Museum FairTrain! This fun family tradition is a great way to avoid parking hassles at the Indiana State Fair while showing your kiddos how train travel works. We'll be giving away tickets on both Twitter and Facebook, so keep your eyes peeled for a chance to win!  

5. Who says food and history don't go together? An Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social and Soapbox Political Rally is being held at the Monon Depot Museum this Sunday and is free to the public. Or you can go to Conner Prairie to experience Taste the Past month where you can learn about food and recipes of the past.  

6. Hop on your bike an hit the trails in Hamilton County. If you're new to biking or have questions about how to WFMS FairTrainperform maintenance on your bike, don't miss Carmel Cyclery's free maintenance clinic next Wednesday! 

7. Get started on your back to school shopping. Hamilton Town Center, Clay Terrace, and The Fashion Mall all offer lots of selection from national retailers. If you're looking for something more rare or for unique accessories, check out the selection of locally owned boutiques dotted throughout the county.
