My mom and I enjoyed the best weekend together! We left my dad and brother at home, went out to a huge farm and stayed at Crop-A-Doodle-Do, a real farmhouse, for a weekend. The innkeeper, Deb, welcomed us and showed us to the cutest room upstairs called “tea for two and since my mom loves tea she was all smiles! The beds were nice and plump with soft, comfy bathrobes and little soaps on each of our beds. The farmhouse was real but updated clearly- nicely air conditioned and ultra clean. Deb must have been working like crazy making all our meals (with desserts) and cleaning up after us all the time but she was always smiling. We toured the house and to my delight there was a little craft store packed with everything including all the paper colors imaginable! Plus a cricket I could use! I immediately told my mom I would be working on the cricket rather than the crafts I brought with me. And I did! Deb taught me all about it and I heard my mom asking Deb where to buy one because I want one for Christmas! The food was the biggest surprise. It was freaking awesome! So flavorful and delicious- and my dad is a chef! We looked forward to each meal and stuffed ourselves with snacks in between. Deb had terrific lemonade and my mom Loovved her sweet tea. My mom is a sweet tea fan and said it was southern sweet! To stretch our legs from making crafts while listening to fun music and watching movies my mom and I sat outside and talked and walked around the cornfield. One time when we went outside it was so quiet that it hurt our heads. Then we started cracking up- silly city girls! We really had an awesome time and my mom was so teary and happy the whole time. She was so thrilled to have an entire weekend with her 13-year old-daughter.Thank you for your feedback Audrey, we are so happy you had a blast and were able to create a few wonderful memories with your mom. Please join us again!
