The telltale chill of winter is in the air, but that doesn't mean you should hibernate for the cold months. With freezing temperatures and fresh powder come opportunities to skate, sled and tube in a magical winter wonderland in Hamilton County, Indiana. Here is a list of indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks and sledding and tubing hills in Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield and beyond.
The Rink at Hamilton Town Center
This faux-ice rink returns Oct. 22 for the holiday season near the Express store at Hamilton Town Center. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Enjoy $2 admission on Two Dollar Tuesdays. Note that only credit and debit cards will be accepted. Guests may bring their own skates (no toepicks) or rent them on-site for no fee.
Nestled between the Palladium and Tarkington theaters is central Indiana’s newest outdoor ice skating rink. The Ice at Center Green is located in the middle of the new Carmel Christkindlmarkt, an authentic European holiday market open through Christmas Eve. Reserve your 90-minute skate time at the designated hut. Bring your own ice skates or rent a pair for $3.
Noblesville Ice Plaza at Federal Hill Commons
Noblesville’s urban park with the amphitheater, Federal Hill Commons, hosts the Noblesville Farmers Market in the summer. In the winter, glide on the new Ice Plaza, open Nov. 17 – Jan. 7. Get in the spirit at Friday themed nights and enjoy food trucks on the weekends. Admission is $12 for unlimited skating and includes skate rental, though guests may bring their own skates.
If you don’t want to ice skate outdoors, glide on over to the Carmel Ice Skadium or Fuel Tank at Fishers, two classic rinks with public skating available. Individuals of all ages and experience levels can hit the ice. For a twist, check out cosmic skating nights with special lighting and music.

Koteewi Run Seasonal Slopes
Strawtown Koteewi Park’s winter attraction opens Dec. 15, Koteewi Run Seasonal Slopes. This is central Indiana’s only groomed snow tubing hill. Travel the length of more than two football fields down the hill and ride the tow line back to the top. Bonus: Experience the Ice Plaza at Federal Hill Commons and Koteewi Run Seasonal Slopes with a seasonal Skates ‘N Slopes deal.
Grab your sled and head to Flat Fork Creek Park to enjoy the 60-foot sledding hill. Other local favorites include West Park in Carmel, Simon Moon Park in Westfield and Forest Park in Noblesville.
