The telltale chill of winter is in the air, but that doesn't mean you should hibernate for the cold months. With freezing temperatures and fresh powder come opportunities to skate, sled and tube in a magical winter wonderland in Hamilton County, Indiana. Here is a list of indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks and sledding and tubing hills in Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield and beyond.

Noblesville Ice Plaza at Federal Hill Commons

The outdoor ice rink at Federal Hill Commons in downtown Noblesville opens for the season Nov. 21 and closes Jan. 3, 2021. The 56-foot by 100-foot ice rink, made with real ice, is located at Market Plaza at Federal Hill Commons. Ice Plaza hours are

Nov. 21 - Dec. 20 // Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 5-9 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Dec. 21 - Jan. 3 // Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Nov. 27 // 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
December 24 and 31 // 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas

All ages are welcome to participate and rental ice skates range from kid to adult sizes. Admission rates are $13 for those ages 13 and older and $11 for those ages 12 and younger. A 10-skate pass is available for $110 and a 5-skate pass is $60. Guests may bring their own skates if they prefer, but skate rental is included in the admission fee. Skating aids will be available for $3.

Indoor Ice Skating

If you don’t want to ice skate outdoors, glide on over to the Carmel Ice Skadium, The Arctic Zone in Westfield Fuel Tank at Fishers, two classic rinks with public skating available. Individuals of all ages and experience levels can hit the ice. For a twist, check out cosmic skating nights with special lighting and music. 





Koteewi Run Seasonal Slopes

Strawtown Koteewi Park’s winter attraction opens December (weather permitting), Koteewi Run Seasonal Slopes. This is central Indiana’s only groomed snow tubing hill. Travel the length of more than two football fields down the hill and ride the tow line back to the top.

Sledding Hills

Grab your sled and head to Flat Fork Creek Park to enjoy the 60-foot sledding hill. Other local favorites include West Park in Carmel, Simon Moon Park in Westfield and Forest Park in Noblesville.
