Fall in Hamilton County means an onslaught on festivals to celebrate the season. The crisp weather is perfect for hanging outdoors in a cozy fleece and savoring the flavors of autumn—apple, pumpkin and cinnamon (yaaaassssss!!!)

AppleOne of my favorite festivals is at Conner Prairie. We load up the kids and head to the picturesque spot for hay mazes, crafts and Headless Horseman sightings, then finish the night by the roaring fire with caramel apples and cider.

Spencer Farm’s Pumpkin Harvest runs through Oct. 31 and offers free hayrides to choose the perfect pumpkin. Don’t forget to stop in their farm store for a pie to take home! The Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Stonycreek Farm is another great place to choose a pumpkin—take it home and roast up the seeds!

Come to Vintage Wheels and Wine at Conner Prairie for an evening of upscale food and wine from local restaurants while checking out rare vintage vehicles. In Sheridan, the (FREE) Blackhawk Winery Harvest Festival will have live music, food trucks and kids’ activities on Sept. 17.  Potter’s Bridge Fall Festival is another great event to get your fill of fall treats on Oct. 1. When you’ve had your fill of food, you can raise your glass and drink to the season! Apple cider fanatics (aren’t we all?) will love Stuckey Farm’s Cider Fest, made fresh at the farm. Beer enthusiasts will appreciate the Noblesville Brewfest, where you can sample brews from dozens of breweries and play a little cornhole while you’re at it. Carmel and Fishers both hold Oktoberfest celebrations with plenty of brews to complement the day.
