Ever since kindergarten, I've spent nine months of the year looking forward to one thing - summer vacation. Now, the time is here. After this summer, I will enter the workforce and say goodbye to my three-month-long lounge fest. You may be wondering, how will she say her final farewells? Well, I'm going to start by going to every movie and concert I can afford! With movie ticket prices getting into the double digits, I've had to scale back on my trips to the theater. Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation is making sure my love for movies doesn't have to dwindle along with my bank account with its movies at West Park. Or I can enjoy a free show every Friday evening, starting August 21, courtesy of Fishers Parks and Recreation. Looking for a new movie experience? The Indiana Transportation Museum offers the Dinner or a Movie Train, which runs from Noblesville to Tipton, Indiana, and you can see first run movies at the Diana Theatre.
"Verizon Wireless Music Center"
Concerts are something I love more than Christmas. And when you live so close to Verizon Wireless Center, the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts, and Conner Prairie, the possibilities really are endless. The Hamilton County summer music lineup includes everything from rock to country to the perennial favorite Symphony on the Prairie. Can't spend a lot of money? Great, neither can I. Luckily, these free community concerts are scheduled this summer: The Fisher's Summer Concert Series will showcase great outdoor music every Tuesday evening, June 7-July 19. Enjoy bands paying tribute to Jimmy Buffet, the Beatles and Earth, Wind and Fire.
