For the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing fun ways to explore our 8 Great Towns.  If you’re planning an Indiana getaway or if you live in town and are planning a staycation, we have created a fun day full of ways to explore Noblesville, Indiana. [caption id="attachment_3340" align="aligncenter" width="289" caption="Start your Noblesville getaway at the Uptown Cafe'"][/caption] Noblesville is the county seat and some say the Uptown Café is the cornerstone of downtown Noblesville. In addition to a great cup of coffee, you’ll find the best in comfort food – can you say biscuits and gravy? It's just what you will need to start your day tour of the city. Breakfast is served 7 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and all day on the weekends. After breakfast, and perhaps a cup of coffee to go, all you have to decide is whether to go left or right. There are enough locally owned, wonderful shops to explore to keep you busy until lunchtime. Browse the wide selection of home décor, garden items, antiques and vintage furnishings in A Corner Cottage.  Stop in The Wild, a locally owned bookstore specializing in children’s books, games and puzzles. There are several options on the square for lunch but I suggest you take the short walk to the large, green ornate Victorian home one block east of the square. It is home to The Ruby Pear, which serves a quaint Luncheon Tea daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. With individual teapots, finger sandwiches and delectable desserts, the tea is really a memorable meal. Reservations are suggested. (317) 770-TEA2. After lunch, explore a few more of the many other stores on the historic square or take a step back in time with a tour of the Historic Hamilton County Courthouse, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. If you call ahead, you may also be able to tour the Old Hamilton County Sheriff’s Residence and Jail, once home to infamous prisoners like Charles Manson and John Dillinger. Call (317) 770-0775 to arrange a tour. Not ready to leave Noblesville yet?  Then end your day at Barley Island Brewery for dinner and a sample of their award winning microbrews. If your getaway day includes the kids, Barley Island is family friendly. In fact, kids eat free on Wednesdays and Thursdays. As the sun goes down on this Noblesville getaway, we still have a few other tours left to share. Next, we’ll travel to Westfield for another fun Indiana getaway in one of our 8 Great Towns.
