Nestled nearly directly across from Prairie View Golf Club on the east banks of the White River in Fishers, Indiana, “at some point, you’ll have to stop admiring the scenery and hit the ball.” Designed in 1990 by course architect Gary Kern, River Glen does a phenomenal job of mixing the local nature with the course. It is not uncommon to see wildlife roaming across the fairways and many of the original tall oak trees line the holes, providing an ominous but beautiful obstacle. This tranquil course will make you feel like you’re far, far away from the bustling nearby cities of Fishers, Carmel, and Indianapolis.
At a par-71, River Glen’s tees range from 4,908 to 6,954 yards, once again allowing for players of all skill levels to enjoy the scenic course. There are fewer hazards lining the holes of River Glen making this course more playable for beginning to intermediate golfers, but there are still enough to make it a challenge. Tall trees and dense forests line many of the holes and the White River runs parallel with both the 14th and 15th holes making for a scenic experience.
Lessons by PGA Golf Professionals are also available at River Glen and there is a driving range located right outside the clubhouse for you to work on your game before your round. There are also multiple practice greens, each of which are on different slopes, allowing for you to get a feel of the greens on different levels to give a real game-like feel while you warm up!
Stop by for a drink in the clubhouse tavern during your round or plan your next event in the banquet hall!
