First, you notice candy corn makes its annual appearance at the grocery store. Then, you purchase your favorite candies – but in fun size. And finally, Hocus Pocus is on television every night. These clues can only mean one thing: Halloween is right around the corner! Whether you live for the frights or you’re a bit of a scaredy cat, there is spooky (and not so spooky) fun for everyone in Hamilton County!
Did you know Hamilton County has a haunted past? It’s true! Unseenpress tours tell these tales on the popular ghost walks. Choose from the Westfield Historic Underground Railroad Ghost Walk or the Nefarious Noblesville Ghost Walk. Want to check it out for yourself? Enter to win tickets below!
Trick or treat
What’s Halloween without wearing a costume and collecting candy in your plastic pumpkin bucket? Luckily, you don’t have to wait until Oct. 31 to start stockpiling on sweets. Boo ‘N Brew at Clay Terrace, Boo Bash and Little Haunt on the Prairie all offer families a safe place to trick or treat and enjoy ghoulish fall fun.
Pumpkins, hayrides and scarecrows, oh my! If you’d rather just celebrate the fall season and go pumpkin picking, there’s a patch for you. Check out Stonycreek Farm’s 44th Annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival, Pumpkin Harvest at Spencer Farm and Stuckey Farm Harvest Festival: 2016 Cider Fest and Flash Light Nights in the Corn Maze. Crazy for corn mazes? Don’t miss Marilyn’s Crazy Corn Maze in Noblesville. In the northern communities, get your exercise at the Wicked Walk and Fall Festival in Cicero.
For the littlest ones who can’t say “boo” quite yet, there are still celebrations to get them in the spirit! Toddlers will love arts and crafts time at Trick or Sweet Fishers, Prairie Tykes Halloween Party, Two Times the Fun – Lil’ Punkins, Halloween Stories and more.
The spookiest of them all
The Headless Horseman makes his annual appearance at Conner Prairie. Who is this headless haunt? What does he want? Hop aboard the hayride for a classic fall spook. Stop by the Apple Store before your hayride time to take a caramel apple on the journey!
