Indiana Fall Colors

If you frequently check this blog, then you know that fall in Indiana is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the cool air after a hot summer, cozy sweaters, pumpkins and hot apple cider. Â I also love when the leaves change from deep green to bright red, orange, green and yellow. Â As I have traveled around the country during other fall seasons, I have never seen leaves quite so bold and bright as they are here. Â So if you are planning a fall Indiana weekend getaway or are already visiting, here are some of the places to see the beauty of fall in Hamilton County, Indiana. [caption id="attachment_1174" align="alignright" width="199" caption="Horseback Riding through Strawtown Koteewi Park"][/caption] The Monon Trail in Carmel - Rent a bike from Carmel Cyclery or simply stroll down the tree lined Monon Trail. Cool Creek Park in Westfield - Hike the guided pathways, stop for a picnic or just sit back and enjoy the scenery. White River Canoe Company in Noblesville - Enjoy the bold leaves as you canoe down the White River... Strawtown Koteewi Park in Noblesville- Ride along one of the equestrian trails, walk through a nature trail or enjoy the history of this park. Conner Prairie in Fishers - Take a balloon ride 350 feet up in the air and see the leaves from a whole new perspective! Also - to see the changing leaves from around the state without leaving the comfort of your computer, check out the Leaf Cam that the Indiana Department of Tourism set up: Â http://www.in.gov/visitindiana/LeafCam/.
