Karen Fehr is a native-born Hoosier who loves Indiana and all the changing seasons. She has a degree in biology and is continuously enthralled with nature and its beauty. She paints landscapes, buildings, florals, animals, and portraits in watercolor, pencil, acrylic, oil, and pastels. Her work is representational and abstract realism. She enjoys doing commissioned portraitures of animals and people, especially of children. Her hobbies of gardening, nature walks, traveling, golfing, and photography help her to obtain ample painting material. She has attended numerous workshops given by nationally known artists, including Tom Lynch, Frank Webb, Judi Betts, Carole Barnes, Diane Maxey, Jean Grastorf, John Salminen, George James, Gerald Brommer, Stephen Quiller, Warren Taylor and Alvaro Castagnet. Her work has been juried into various shows, including The Hoosier Salon, The Indiana State Fair, The Indiana Artists Club and the Watercolor Society of Indiana. Her art is included in many collections throughout the United States. Currently she is a member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana, The Indiana Artists Club, the Hamilton County Artists' Association, and The Hoosier Salon.
