The curtain will rise, and rise, and rise again at theatres throughout our 8 Great Towns this fall and winter. Part of the reason for the busy theater schedule is due to the opening of two new venues - the Studio and the Tarkington -- at The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana. This weekend alone, you can choose from three musicals or a romantic comedy.
  • Catch the final performances of The Drowsy Chaperone at the Tarkington on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening this week. The musical is the first production by the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre in its new home.
  • Over in the Studio, you can see the Actors Theatre of Indiana's production of COLE, through Sunday, September 25. This play features the words and sounds of Hoosier legend Cole Porter. Take a walk down memory lane to enjoy songs like "I Love Paris", "Night & Day", and "Anything Goes".
  • Tickets are also still available for Almost, Maine, a romantic comedy brought to you by the Carmel Community Players.

Over in Noblesville, The Great American Backstage Musical opens at The Belfry Theatre this week, and plays through October 9. Their final show of the calendar year, The Perfume Shop, opens November 25 to December 10. But wait, there's more theatre to do! If you're already making out your holiday schedule, be sure to add these family-friendly productions: Annie, November 7-17. A Christmas Carol, December 8-18. Roald Dahl's Willie Wonka, December 16 - January 7. Frog and Toad, December 16-18.

What has been your favorite performance at The Center for Performing Arts or elsewhere in Hamilton County, Indiana, so far this year?
