The Nickel Plate Arts is a 30 mile region painted with interactive art classes, exhibits, and exciting entertainment. During the Nickel Plate Arts Weekend, FishersNoblesvilleCiceroAtlantaArcadia and Tipton, Indiana will all have art activities for residents and visitors to experience. June 1-3rd will bring out your creative side with events of discovering 16 Artful Umbrellas that lead visitors to hands-on art projects, strolling art galleries, watching artists paint pianos with I Am Piano and more!

Friday, June 1st

Visitors can soak up art in the heart of Noblesville on Friday June 1st. Enjoy the live background music as smooth jazz echoes the downtown square at Main Street’s Jazz Square. A gallery of vibrant paintings will be on display for guests to browse. If a colorful masterpiece catches your eye, don’t hesitate to purchase the artwork of the Hamilton County Artists’ Association. Art appears in a variety of forms, and visitors may gaze at the unique Zip Tie Sculptures or even the Yarn Bomb Installation

You don’t have to travel far for a delicious meal. The Lion’s Club will be located in the Noblesville courtyard and can provide you with a mouth-watering pork chop, potato salad, dessert and a drink for a great price. Or, one of Noblesville's well-known restaurants will do just the trick.

Stroll down a few blocks to 195 South 5th Street in Noblesville to peek at the Hamilton County Artists’ Association. HCAA will be having an open house in their Birdie Gallery as well as participating in the 4th Annual Plein Air Paint-Out. The winner of the contest will be awarded with a grand prize of one thousand dollars.

Saturday, June 2nd

Rise and Shine on the Noblesville Square with a fresh stack of pancakes provided by the Lion’s Club, and you can eat your breakfast as you watch the first event of the day. Move aside Indy 500; there will be some serious racers that will compete in the 2nd Annual Noblesville Parks Bed Race. The Bed Race will take place at 9 a.m. in downtown Noblesville, and you can participate! Teams are made up of five racers--four runners and one rider all 16 and older, registration forms need to be returned to the Boys and Girls Club in Noblesville before you start your engines. 

It's five o'clock somewhere! While you're on the square, head to Barley Island Brewing Company for the tapping of a special Nickel Plate Arts wheat beer and the beer garden from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Visitors can purchase a microbrew to cool off on the hot summer day. Be sure to purchase a Nickel Plate Wheat glass to experience the Nickel Plate Arts craft beer.  

If you want to travel to the northern towns that will be hosting more Nickel Plate Arts events, then hop on board the Art Train. The Art Train will wheel out of Noblesville’s downtown square at 9:30 a.m. and stop in Cicero, Arcadia and Tipton to join the other exciting festivities.  The second train departs in Noblesville at 1p.m. and heads directly to Tipton then makes stops in Arcadia and Cicero before chugging home to Noblesville. Visitors can purchase tickets at downtown Noblesville before departing on their adventure.

Arrive at Arcadia Arts for a weaving and spinning demos performed by Tabby Tree Weaver. There will also be a wine tasting for visitors at Arcadia Wine and Spirits. 

Stopping in Cicero? You are in for a treat! Browse art booths at the Cicero’s Farmers Market and check out the hand-painted rain barrels that will be on display to be judged and sold. Children can get their face painted at the Port Cicero Plaza and can enjoy Native American Flute Performances.

Dance your way to Tipton at 10 a.m. for Paint the Town Purple Zumbathon, held next to Moser Parking Lot.  Move your hips for an hour to help raise proceeds for Rely for Life for only $5 per participant.

Sunday, June 3rd

All aboard! Visitors are welcomed to hop on the caboose for a trip from Forest Park to downtown Noblesville. You can disembark on the square to shop at Corner Cottage or Logan Village Mall. If you want a snack head over to Alexander’s on the Square for an ice cream treat! Also on the square will be the art tent full of masterpieces for sale. The Forest Park Caboose is only $5 per person for an afternoon of fun.
