Guest blogger Natalie Harris is a member of our Visitor Services staff. She headed out to the Noblesville Farmers market last week and she found the market is about more than just good food. Hamilton County, Indiana is not only a tourist destination, but it's also a great place its own residents can explore. This past weekend, I rediscovered the Noblesville Farmers Market. Despite the presence of clouds early in the morning, the market was bustling with people, both locals and visitors. This particular Saturday was Kids Day, a fun-filled family day that included live music and plenty of vendor booths to explore all morning. Not only were the children having a fantastic time, but it was easy to tell the parents were enjoying themselves as well. The most popular kids attraction was the tall climbing wall, followed by the fire truck with the tractor coming in a close third. Close by, I could see a long line of children waiting with their parents to get their faces painted to become all kinds of glittered creatures. The Noblesville Farmer's Market continues through October 29, Saturday mornings 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the overflow parking area of Riverview Hospital. Several more special events are on the schedule, including cooking contests, Pet Day on September 17, and the Chili Cook Off and Fall Festival on October 29. Hamilton County farmers markets are great places to purchase fresh, local produce and other locally made products. In addition to the Noblesville market, you can also visit farmers markets in Carmel, Westfield, Fishers and Cicero. Where is your favorite farmers market?
