One of my favorite things about Indiana is that the seasons change. Leaves turn bright shades of orange, red and yellow in the fall; white snow covers the ground in the winter; and the grass turns a vibrant shade of green in the spring. While I love the changing seasons, I do miss the fun outdoor concerts, farmers markets, park visits of spring, summer and fall. So, when it gets too cold to do those fun outdoor activities- I eat! Every week this winter I will highlight one of my favorite Hamilton County, Indiana restaurants. As a foodie (my definition of foodie is simply someone who loves to eat), I will happily talk about the small diners, the hole in the wall eateries, the fancy French bistros, the big restaurants and more. NOW, onto the good stuff - enjoy, and feel free to share your own favorite Hamilton County, Indiana dining spots!
Peterson's - As many of the regular readers may know, I love Peterson's (see this post for an example of my love). Whether you are toasting to another anniversary, are out for a holiday party or are simply excited that it is a Tuesday, this locally owned Fishers restaurant is a place for celebration. Since opening in 1999, their goal has been to offer a high-quality cuisine experience to the food and wine enthusiasts of central Indiana, as well as those visiting the area. When you walk in the door, you are warmly greeted and quickly guided back to your white cloth covered table. The service is impeccable, the food comes out piping hot and filled with flavor. After my recent Valentine's Day visit, I have to say that my favorite dish at Peterson's is the 8 ounce petite filet with a side of pan-seared scallops (you'll find the scallops on the appetizer menu)- my mouth is watering just thinking about it. We also had this amazing creamed spinach that I highly recommend. For your next celebration, keep Peterson's in mind - nothing is more fun than getting dressed up for a fun evening out!
