Every week this winter, we will highlight one of our Hamilton County, Indiana restaurants. This past week, cold temperatures had us thinking about heading south. Since travel was not an option, we opted for a south-of-the border staycation at Queso Blanco Mexican Restaurant in Westfield, Indiana.

Queso Blanco (translation: White Cheese) serves up authentic, Mexican dishes in a family-like atmosphere. The restaurant is owned by locals Terrell and Yolanda Gray. Yolanda is originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, an area known for its cheeses. At Queso Blanco, they use secret family recipes and imported Mexican cheese to create a host of tasty dishes. To say this restaurant has an extensive menu is an understatement. You’ll find traditional favorites like fajitas, burritos and chimichangas, plus house specialties like their Taco de Azaa Con Chorizo, flour tortillas stuffed with grilled steak and Mexican sausage. Rice, beans, tortillas, pico de gallo and other extras complement many of the dishes. To finish off your meal, try the fried ice cream or a banana chimichanga, fried banana topped with ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Mmmm mmmm good. Check here for hours and menu options and sign up for their e-club to receive a free dessert on your birthday!
