For the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing fun ways to explore our 8 Great Towns if you’re planning an Indiana getaway or if you live in town and are planning a staycation. [caption id="attachment_3250" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Fill your plate with great food in Hamilton County"][/caption] Start your culinary tour of Hamilton County at one of our Italian eateries. Each offers something a little different. Sample traditional favorites like fettuccini Alfredo or spaghetti and meatballs at Romano’s Macaroni Grill in Carmel or Maggiano’s on the north side of Indianapolis. Want another option? Put Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano in Noblesville on your spring break itinerary. The food is fabulous, plus you’ll like the warm feel of this locally-owned restaurant. Let your taste buds travel south of the border with a trip to Queso Blanco in Westfield. Locals Terrell and Yolanda Gray use family recipes and imported Mexican cheese to create an extensiveand authentic menu. (We recommend their Chile Rellenos.) At Abuelo’s in Carmel, you’ll find enchiladas, fajitas and house specialties like their Shrimp Mojo De Ajo, shrimp sautéed with a Mexican-style garlic sauce. If you love a good pizza and you’re open to exotic flavors, try one of the gourmet pizzas at Jan’s Village Pizza in Westfield or Sheridan. We suggest biting into their Greek pizza, a delicious mix of onions, spinach, ripe black olives and feta cheese over tzatziki sauce covered with mozzarella cheese. Of course, if you’re looking for a traditional taste of Indiana, take a trip to one of the 16 restaurants on the Tenderloin Trail to sample the breaded tenderloin – a Hoosier favorite.  And Zacky’s Hot Dogs has 15 different styles of hot dogs, including the Hoosier Dog and the Indy “Blue Dog. Visit ChowTown Indiana for more dining ideas.
