Our marketing and promotions director, Ashley Ledford, attended one of the opening concerts at The Studio Theater at The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana last week. Here is what she had to say about the trip.[caption id="attachment_3233" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Joanna Smith at The Studio at The Center for the Performing Arts"][/caption] We had the chance to attend the performance by one of country music's emerging artists, Joanna Smith. If you like country music you might want to remember her name. Joanna's charming southern twang and songs like Georgia Mudd and Getting' Married are sure to gain the attention of new listeners. The Studio is a great space but completely different than The Palladium. Located across the green from the concert hall, The Studio is conceived as a flexible "black box" theater, allowing multiple configurations to meet the needs of different performances. And there are a lot of performances coming up. Two caught my attention. Resident company, The Carmel Repertory Theatre will present The Fantasticks, from March 11 - 27,  while the Actors Theatre of Indiana will present Chicago: The Musical, April 28 - May 22. The Studio is a wonderful and different venue from the Palladium. Both are worth checking out.
