Carmel, Indiana, has a definite artsy vibe. But with the addition of The Swanky Abode's pop-up shop, Carmel has upped the hip factor. When the Jones family, the owners of The Swanky Abode decided to venture outside of Ohio, home to their Easton Town Square home store, they decided to bring their hard-to-find collection of mid-century modern furniture, accessories and gifts to the Indiana Design Center - but only for a short time. That is the nature of pop-up retail. Like the traditional pop-up shop model, the 2,000 square-foot location won't be open for long. So go while you can to shop a hand-selected assortment of goods geared toward modernists who also want a connection to mid-century living. The Carmel location is a little like walking into another art gallery in the Carmel Arts & Design District - one with accessories! So just what kind of swanky will you find in Carmel?
Happy, whimsical and humorous. Light, bright and cheerful. Out of the ordinary and bringing joy. Hearty, functional and bold. Rustic, unfinished and unexpected. Streamlined, sexy and iconic. Dramatic, yet refined. All of what you see in the store is a reflection of the eclectic, stylish and bold style of the Jones family. It is a comfortable and welcoming blend of vintage and contemporary, traditional with bohemian. The vintage, mid-century pieces were selected just this summer. The store also features charmingly chic home accessories like pillows, rustic jar vases and its very own candle line, Shine, which makes its debut here. If you like to blend vintage and hip, you are sure to find pieces you will love and own for years at The Swanky Abode. Have you visited yet?
