Joining Blair Clark this month is Valarie Phelps and a collaboration of Indianapolis musicians called "The Phelps Connection” that is managed by legendary drummer and entrepreneur Kenny Phelps. Valerie’s vocal style is versatile and dynamic. She performs a combination of jazz and soul rolled into an inspirational mix of Ella, Frank, and Nat King Cole classics. Val is an entertainer who is also a professional in the entertainment business. She is the current producer for The Jazz Kitchen midweek WOW Series, an Artistic Associate and curator of The Cabaret Jazz and Alley series of Indianapolis, a Producer & Production Manager for IAC Art & Soul, and a Booking Agent. Also, Valerie has shared the stage with countless Indy Jazz ensembles, a featured guest National Anthem soloist for Gov. Holcomb's Inauguration, Indiana Black Expo, American Pianist Association Events, Animals and All That Jazz at The Indianapolis Zoo, Indiana Jazz Fest Vocalist, Indiana Fever Anthem soloist, and Super Bowl Half Time Show support vocalist and more. Kenny Phelps is among the most in-demand jazz drummers internationally and in Indianapolis. He has backed the likes of Dee Dee Bridgewater, Melvin Rhyne, Roy Meriwether, and many more. His touch compares to legendary drummer Tony Williams. He also produces community festivals and has reached 1000s with entertainment throughout the city and is the current host for WICR's daily Smooth Jazz Show. Join us for a passionate, fun, and memorable experience! This is your chance to experience this dynamic couple up close and personal.
