Lights Over Seminary is a walkable, holiday lights display in Seminary Park that will focus on the history of Noblesville. Vintage decorations used by the city in the past are being restored for display. Additionally, Nickel Plate Arts will be having a call out to local artists to create unique pieces for the display that convey or relate to the history of Noblesville. Along with the display within Seminary Park, Noblesville Preservation Alliance is gifting a vintage nativity scene to Friends Church. Friends Church, located adjacent to Seminary Park, is in turn having the nativity scene refurbished for display for the public to enjoy in conjunction with Lights Over Seminary.
The opening event will be held on December 7th and promoted as “Main Street First Friday presented by Noblesville Preservation Alliance”.
This will be the official turning on of the lights as well as some interactive things such as carolers, parks booth with info on Seminary Park upgrades, NPA booth with information on the history of Seminary Park and guided tours to talk about display items and their importance to our city. NPArts will also have a booth to promote the artist designed, display piece contest.
Lights Over Seminary is a collaborative, place-making effort with the Noblesville Preservation Alliance, the City of Noblesville, Nickel Plate Arts and Noblesville Main Street.
