  • Overview

Throughout his career as an illustrator, Jingo M. de la Rosa has been told time and again that one must have a single specialty in order to succeed professionally as an artist. Over the years, he has come to embrace the idea that not having a niche is his niche. In this presentation, he will talk about how collaboration and cross-pollination with other art forms – music, specifically – have further enhanced his career and artistry.

Jingo M. de la Rosa is a commercial illustrator, art educator, community artist and urban sketcher. He has worked with organizations such as Duncan Toys, the Houston Symphony, the NCAA and Sakura of America. Jingo is part of the leadership teams for CreativeMornings Indianapolis, ArtSpeak, and Urban Sketchers Indianapolis – local organizations that help enrich the Indianapolis creative community through events around the city. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Drawing at Butler University and serves on the Advisory Board for Ivy Tech Community College's Fine Arts Department. He is a native of the Philippines but now calls Indianapolis his home.

Luminaries is the Center’s weekday speaker series. Each 2 p.m. presentation is followed by light refreshments.
