Page & Stage Camp is the only drama-for-literacy camp in Indiana! We believe that great actors make great readers -- and we make both.
Children ages 4-18 will use acting and performance to learn to read and improve their reading comprehension. Activities such as Physical Phonics, Comprehension Improv, and Literacy Plays are just a few of our many daily theatre/reading games. Every day, kids perform our new reading skills. As children become better actors, they also become better readers.
No experience in acting or reading is necessary. We accept campers who are still learning their letters to those who want to improve their reading skills -- and everyone in between! We offer need-based scholarships and discounts. The camp features a final performance in which all campers participate.
The Camp is divided into three levels and runs for five weeks:
Basic (ages 4-10): Mon and Wed, 9:00 am to 12:00
Intermediate (ages 10-15): Tues and Thurs, 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
Advanced (13-18): our Professional Actor Training Program, which runs 12:00-3:30, Mon-Thurs.It includes an option to tour during the school year.
We also offer Free Theatre Fridays (2-3 hour sessions about theatre topics like makeup, lighting, sound, singing, and auditioning). We also have private reading tutoring and acting coaching at a small additional cost. Free Theatre Fridays are free for campers, and $25 for non-campers.
Page & Stage Camp runs June 25-July 28, with a final performances on July 27 and 28 at 7:00 pm.
Our goal is to offer children a safe, educational, fun summer full of theatre and reading!
