If you’ve ever thought weaving might be fun but weren’t sure how to get started, consider this beginning class on the rigid heddle loom. You can bring your own loom or borrow one from Tabby Tree. You’ll learn how to plan a simple project, warp the loom and weave a small table mat to take home. The class is taught by Nancy Comiskey, a journalist and retired member of the Indiana University Media School faculty, where she won four teaching awards. She started weaving four years ago and loves the versatility and portability of the rigid heddle loom. You’ll get easy-to-follow directions and a bonus handout called, “10 Mistakes I Made That You Don’t Have To.” Material costs will vary depending on the yarns you choose to use.
