Tourism Matters

By attracting visitors, Tourism helps improve Hamilton County's quality of life, bringing in $680 million in direct economic impact to the community, according to a study released in late 2015 by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development. The study by Rockport Analytics shows 90 cents of every dollar spent on tourism stays in the county to provide indirect economic benefits as well.

Tourism grew almost 12 percent between 2014 and 2015 in Hamilton County. The growth of 11.9 percent was more than double the Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area growth of 4.4 percent, and almost triple Indiana’s growth of 3.3 percent.
