Planetarium

The planetarium serves the Carmel Clay School district by providing educational opportunities in Astronomy. The Carmel Planetarium serves as home base for CHS Astronomy classes; and provides programming for all CCS 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade students. Additionally, programming for CCS Special Services, CHS 9th grade History students as well as for CCS Edu-care are also available.

The planetarium started with a Spitz A3-P star machine and Spitz dome. The original planetarium dome and star machine were removed during the 2005-2006 school year. The planetarium now has a 9.1m Astro-tec dome and GOTO Chronos night sky simulator.

Seating Capacity: 68 unidirectional seats

Technical information: Technical information: 9.1 m Astro-tec dome; ECCS automation of special effects, video screens, and cove lights.

The CHS Planetarium is located in Carmel High School. Enter through the main entrance of the school on Main Street, walk past the Dale Graham auditorium, and turn right.
 
Doors will open 30 minutes before show time.
 
No one will be admitted after the program begins.
 
Children 12 years and under should be accompanied by an adult.
