CARMEL, IND. – The world's fastest swimmers will converge this weekend (Oct. 10-12) as the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup kicks off its three-stop North American tour. The event at Carmel High School Natatorium marks the Swimming World Cup's return to North America for the first time since 2022. Tickets are still available for purchase at this link

COMPETITION SCHEDULE

The three-day meet features a full slate of events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and individual medley races in distances from 50m to 1500m, with sessions starting Friday, October 10 and concluding on Sunday, October 12.

STAR-STUDDED LINE-UP

Many of swimming's biggest stars have confirmed they'll compete across all three World Cup stops, headlined by:

Team USA:

  • Kate Douglass – Defending World Cup overall champion, World & Olympic Champion
  • Regan Smith – Short-course backstroke World Record-holder (50m, 100m, 200m)
  • Alex and Aaron Shackell – Sibling duo who competed in the 2024 Olympics and graduates of Carmel High School

International Stars:

  • Summer McIntosh (Canada) – 2024 World Aquatics Female Swimmer of the Year
  • Leon Marchand (France) – 2024 Overall World Cup Champion, Olympic gold medalist
  • Kaylee McKeown (Australia) – Long-course backstroke World Record-holder
  • Mollie O'Callaghan (Australia) – Five-time Olympic champion
  • Josh Liendo (Canada), Thomas Ceccon (Italy), Hubert Kos (Hungary), Noe Ponti(Switzerland)

HIGH STAKES COMPETITION

Athletes compete for a total prize purse of $1.2 million, with additional bonuses:

  • $10,000 for each World Record broken
  • $10,000 for winning a "crown" (same event across all three tour stops)

FAN EXPERIENCES

Local Events: The City of Carmel will host two events on Saturday, October 11. The city’s annual fall event The Arts in Autumn will take place in Midtown Plaza from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and the concert series Late Night on Main will take over Main Street (east of Range Line Road) at 6:00 p.m. 

Community Art Project: Spectators can participate in an interactive "paint by number" community art piece created by Carmel High School art teacher Drew Murray. Located in the natatorium atrium, fans can pick up a brush and make their mark on this commemorative artwork.

Athlete Autographs: Following each session, athletes may sign autographs and take photos in a designated zone at Carmel High School's Greyhound Station. Fans should proceed down the upstairs hallway past the main gymnasium and wait behind the blue barricades.

Photo Opportunities: Large swimming-themed props are available for photo opportunities throughout Carmel Midtown and the Arts & Design District. You can find locations on this map
