Hamilton County is home to the Indiana Renaissance Faire on the grounds of Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. Over the years, I have made the trip to RenFaire and enjoyed the people, the sights, the games and the food - but have always experienced the event as a casual observer. A few years ago, I wanted to attend knowing what was new, what I just could not miss and what had changed. Here are some insider tips for attending.
What is the Indiana Renaissance Faire in Noblesville, Indiana?
The festival is your chance to experience the Golden Age of Queen Elizabeth I. Expect to see costumed characters, full-contact non-choreographed jousting, period and pirate music, roving comedy, juggling, acrobats, knighting ceremonies, sword play and more. And don't forget about the 70+ merchants on hand, as well as food and activities for kids.
How much are tickets?
Tickets for adults (ages 12+) are $14; youth (ages 5+) are $5; and wee folk (under 5 years old) are free. Purchase a family pack (includes two adults and up to five youth) for $35. Active and retired military personnel can receive $5 off admission at the gate with a valid ID.
Should I dress up?
Renaissance garb is certainly encouraged but not required.
Is it kid-friendly?
Yes! With activities for kids and lots of entertainment, the kids are sure to be entertained. Even the volunteer cast includes families performing together.
What kind of entertainment is there?
More than 20 acts will perform shows approximately 30 minutes long, like Kilted Kings, Molotov the Gypsy and Family Feudal.
What are the dates and times?
Indiana Renaissance Faire is Oct. 6-7, 2018 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. both days. The event is on the grounds of Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center, formerly known as Klipsch Music Center, in Noblesville.
