Notable Breweries
Barley Island Brewing Company
Barley Island is Hamilton County’s oldest brewery, the first to open after the Temperance Movement and Prohibition. Prior to its opening in 1999, it had been over a century since there was a brewery in the county.
Notable brews: Bum Rush, Dirty Helen Brown Ale, Bling Tiger Pale Ale.
Deviate Brewing
Don’t judge a brewery until you’ve sampled one of their beers. Deviate Brewing is in an unassuming strip mall just north of 96th Street and I-465. As its name suggests, Deviate brews deviate from the norm with inventive craft beer creations that push the envelope.
Notable brews: PB&C (peanut butter and coffee), Bear Hugs watermelon cream al), Chai-abolic (espresso and chai tea).
Four Day Ray Brewing
The name is a nod to a railroad employee who habitually called off work one day a week. Four Day Ray Brewing is located in downtown Fishers’ Nickel Plate District and has a full-service restaurant, including delectable desserts made by the in-house pastry chef.
Notable brews: Coffee blonde (made with Indie Coffee Roasters beans), Prince Igor Russian Imperial Stout, Hot Pink strawberry rhubarb and jalapeno blonde.
Grand Junction Brewing Co.
Grand Junction opened its original brew pub in downtown Westfield and expanded to a tap room and production facility near Grand Park Sports Campus. The name pays homage to Westfield’s history with the Underground Railroad.
Notable brews: Hoosier Pride Cream Ale, Westfield Underground ESB, Squirrel Stampede Nut Brown Ale.
Mashcraft Fishers
Hamilton County’s newest brewery just opened in Fishers, replacing Heady Hollow. Chef Joe Hsu of 5280 Bistro is cooking up flatbreads, smoked beef briskets and more good eats to pair with your pours.
Notable brews: Java Joe coffee infused red ale, Ginger Snap spiced ale, Alex raspberry milk stout.
