As the cosmos align for the celestial spectacle of the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, communities around the world are gearing up to witness this rare event. Amidst the anticipation, the cities of Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and Westfield are adding an artistic flair to the cosmic show with a stunning display of mural art. Eight locations, marked on the map below, have been chosen to host temporary murals, turning these urban spaces into canvases that celebrate the beauty of the eclipse and the spirit of creativity.

Andrea Haydon, a visionary artist renowned for her ability to blend vibrant colors with profound storytelling, has been entrusted with the task of bringing the cosmic experience of the total solar eclipse to life on the walls of our communities. “My inspiration derived from many vintage eclipse/phases of the moon posters. Connecting it to Hamilton County was through an old 1922 Hamilton County Sanborn map. Working in architecture for several years, I’ve learned to love topographic maps as well as blueprints and how we can still incorporate it in the present,” said Haydon.

The murals will be installed the week on April 1, 2024.
