As much as I enjoyed feeling the warm sunshine while I perused the wide selection of field-fresh fruit and veggies, the shining star of Hamilton County’s summer farmers’ markets, there’s something to be said about the joy on winter market fare.
The winter markets complete my checklist of throwing a holiday party or surviving the first big snowstorm of the season: bread, eggs, meat, cheese, sweets, a gallon milk, wine, winter vegetables and so much more.
Here’s a guide to filling, either the fridge or holiday stockings, at winter markets in Hamilton County, Indiana.
Carmel Winter Farmers Market
611 3rd Avenue SW // 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. // Saturdays through March
While previously located in the Wire Factory, the Carmel Winter Farmers Market moved into their new home just a block down the street at The Six Eleven! Thanks to the Carmel Redevelopment Commission, the market will feature 40 vendors and serve all your looking for—delicious treats, limited live entertainment, and the perfect gift.
Westfield Winter Market
10 E. 191st St. // 9 a.m. - noon // Saturdays through April 1
The winter market is hosted by West Fork Whiskey in their event space. Here, you can find bread loaves, plant and flower growers, cheese and meat vendors, fresh produce, handcrafted items and more!
