A burger is a simple yet classic staple on the American food menu. The concept is simple – burger patty sandwiched between two buns, topped with cheese, lettuce, pickles, mayo or whatever your heart desires. But the simplicity allows for mouthwatering possibilities with unique twists – think peanut butter or even an egg.

We worked with our friends at Yelp Indy to find the top places for a burger in Hamilton County. Did your favorite make the list? Read on to find out.

Methodology: This is an all-time list of the top 10 restaurants with burgers in Hamilton County according to Yelp. We identified businesses in the restaurant category that mentioned burgers in reviews and are not part of a national chain, then ranked those spots using a number of factors including the total volume and ratings of reviews. This list was updated in January 2025.
 

1. 10 West

10 W. Jackson St., Cicero

Located on the corner street of Cicero, 10 West is a gem. Try the culinary creations of Chef Bill Wampler and be sure to check out The Cellar, a speakeasy-like environment located in the basement.

2. Ford's Garage

13193 Levinson Ln., Noblesville

At Ford's Garage, burgers are the star of the show. Each burger is crafted from fresh, never frozen, 1/2 pound Black Angus beef, served on a toasted brioche bun. For those with a hearty appetite, the "Model A" burger is a must-try, featuring a juicy patty topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, a fried egg, and all the classic fixings. If you're looking for something unique, try the "Ford's Signature" burger, which includes arugula, tomato, and a special sauce that adds a delightful twist. The restaurant's 1920s service station-themed decor, complete with vintage Ford vehicles and gas pumps, adds to the unique dining experience.

3. Bru Burger Bar – Carmel

12901 Old Meridian St., Carmel

BRU features gourmet chef burgers using locally-sourced meats and vegetables. You can’t go wrong with the namesake Bru Burger with taleggio cheese, bacon, tomato jam, caramelized onion, chopped lettuce and mayo. Other popular burgers include the Bourbon Burger with peppercorn-bourbon glaze, Provençal with herbed goat cheese, and Melt Your Face with all things habanero and jalapeño.

“Solid burger choice and fast service. Burgers are juicy and stacked nicely. Onion rings are cooked prior to fryer, so they are always tender and cut with each bite…delicious. Recommend the Taxi Bourbon Sour drink. Lovely concoction.” – Yelper Rod M.
 

4. Flight Burger

Located in Carmel, this restaurant serves gourmet cooked-to-serve wagyu burgers. Offering halal-certified and gluten-free options, including grilled or breaded chicken, lamb, salmon, falafel, turkey and impossible patties.

“Flight burger is so yummy! They have a lot of options of mix and match slides and burgers, as well as loaded fries and other fun appetizers. It’s a fast option to get a slider or burger craving in.” – Yelper Zuha A.
 

5. Wolfie's Grill

7695 Crosspoint Commons, Fishers

At Wolfie's Grill burgers are a highlight of the menu. Each burger is made with high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients, ensuring a fresh and flavorful experience. The "Horsey Blue Burger" is a fan favorite, featuring a juicy patty topped with blue cheese, horseradish sauce, and crispy onions. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, the "Buffalo Chicken Wrap" offers a spicy kick with its tangy buffalo sauce and tender chicken. The laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff make Wolfie's Grill the perfect spot for a casual and delicious dining experience.

6. Roots Burger Bar

12552 Gray Rd., Carmel

At Roots Burger Bar, gourmet burgers are the main attraction. Known for their cooked-to-order wagyu burgers, Roots Burger Bar offers a variety of options to cater to different dietary needs, including halal-certified and gluten-free choices. You can enjoy a range of patties such as grilled or breaded chicken, lamb, salmon, falafel, turkey, and even impossible patties.

7. Punch Burger

550 E. 96th St., Indianapolis

Punch Burger was started by two guys in Indiana looking for a great burger and beer for a great price. All our beef is sourced from Midwestern farmers with no added hormones or antibiotics.  

"This was exactly what we are looking for. A standard burger that was perfectly prepared and Juicy with lettuce cheese tomato onion mayo and ketchup." - Yelper David H.
 

8. Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream

210 W. Main St., Carmel

As the name suggests, burgers are Bub’s specialty – with ice cream for dessert, of course. The burgers here are hand-pattied and served on locally baked (and toasted) buns. Challenge yourself to eat the infamous “Big Ugly®” One Pound burger and you can get your picture on the wall of fame. For smaller appetites, there’s the “Not So Ugly®” Half Pound, “Settle for Less Ugly®” Quarter Pound and even elk burgers.

“You can never go wrong with having dinner at Bub’s! Elk is fantastic, as is the chili! Atmosphere is inviting and the place is clean. The service is really good and did I mention, the food is fricken awesome! If you haven’t tried it, you are missing out.” – Yelper Jerry H.

 

9. One Trick Pony

9713 District N. Dr., Ste 1210, Fishers

One Trick Pony (or OTP, as it’s called) is a pop-up restaurant in the Fishers Test Kitchen that specializes in diner-style burgers. Chef Neal Brown’s menu is simple: the “Old John” with American cheese, shredded lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle, mayo and mustard. Choose your size and add customizations like “Whiz Bang” with cheese whiz and roasted jalapeños or “Razorback” with Smoking Goose bacon.

“This is a wonderful addition to a trendy section of Fishers. It is a semi-fast food joint that is available for dine-in or carry-out. If you are looking for a good burger, look no further. This is the spot.” – Yelper Tank G.

 

10. Upland Brewing

820 E 116th St., Carmel

At Upland Brewing, burgers are crafted with care using beef sourced from Midwestern farmers, ensuring no added hormones or antibiotics. The "Upland Classic Burger" is a standout, featuring a juicy patty topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a special house sauce. For those seeking something different, the "Bison Burger" offers a unique twist with its rich flavor and tender texture.
