• Overview

    The Carmel Planetarium opened in 1970. The planetarium serves the Carmel Clay School district by providing educational opportunities in Astronomy. Currently the Carmel Planetarium serves as home base for CHS Astronomy classes and Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, 5th grade planetarium programming. The planetarium started with a Spitz A3-P star machine and Spitz dome. The original planetarium dome and star machine were removed during the 2005-2006 school year. The planetarium now has a 9.1m Astro-tec dome and GOTO Chronos night sky simulator.
