There’s nothing like driving scenic roads in a not-so-familiar part of the country. Everything from the unique sights and smells to the new experiences you encounter along the way makes you wonder why you don’t take adventures like this more often.

But lucky for you, your PTO has cleared and you’re ready to explore every inch of Indiana’s most charming county. Get behind the wheel of the car of your choice from CarRentals.com and open your eyes to all the things to do in Hamilton County, Indiana.

Carmel

How awesome is Carmel, Indiana? Well, CNN Money magazine named it the “Best Place to Live in the United States” a few years ago. Add that distinguished honor with the countless art galleries and yearly festivals and you get a city that should be high on your list of places to visit. Cruise the Carmel Arts & Design District and check out everything that’s going on: public art displays, chic antique stores and amazing restaurants will have your mouth watering for more. Cap off your night with a live performance at The Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts and late night drinks at divvy.

Noblesville

We don’t blame you for wanting to see a show at The Belfry Theatre or check out the exhibits at the Hamilton County Museum of History and Old Sheriff’s Residence and Jail. But if you really want to experience this place in all its glory, hop in your rental car and go for a leisurely drive through Historic Noblesville Square in the Noblesville Cultural Arts District. Then, head on over to Nickel Plate Arts, an art campus that showcases some of the best local artists. Walk or bike along the new Riverwalk to Forest Park for “Tom Thumb” miniature golf and a carousel ride.

Northern Towns

The Northern Towns of Hamilton County consist of Arcadia, Atlanta, Cicero and Sheridan. Start off in Cicero waterside at Morse Reservoir, followed by horseback trail rides, archery and treetop adventure trails at Strawtown Koteewi Park. Next, make the quick drive to Atlanta and check out Mr. Muffin’s Trains. Top it all off with a stop at Blackhawk Winery and Vineyard in Sheridan for a bottle of Firefly dessert wine and you’ll be set to go.

Fishers

After spending time in the Northern Towns, take that comfortable rental car of yours a handful of miles south via Indiana State Road 37. You’ll eventually come to the city of Fishers, where a stop at Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt is a must. We think a Handel’s Hurricane topped with Butterfinger should keep you satisfied for a while. Follow that up with a trip to Conner Prairie and see what life was like in 19th century Indiana. Add a cold pint from Four Day Ray Brewing and you’ll be saying “cheers” to a great day.

Westfield

A short 9-mile jaunt northwest of Fishers brings you to the city of Westfield. Take a slow cruise down Main Street and stop in an antique store to pick up something “new” for your home. When your stomach lets you know it’s time to eat, enjoy a basket of pretzel breadsticks and a cream ale from Grand Junction Brewing Company. Or take your pick of places along Park Street, also known as “Restaurant Row.”

Maybe you want to find the best ice cream in the Hoosier state. Maybe you want to drive through a historic town square. Or perhaps you’re just looking to see some place new. Whatever it is you’re in search of, Hamilton County, Indiana has it all. Find more information and start planning your getaway.
